Dis Satisified
Girlfriend bought me a Lumi Nox watch for a birthday present. It worked for 6 days and stopped.
Upon contacting the repair department we were told the company wasn't going to honor the warranty because she had bought it off EBAY. It was brand new in original packaging. They wouldn't fix unless she paid and paid plenty!! Got watch back and have been wearing for another 4 months and now the rotating ring with the numbers which surrounds the crystal fell off so she asked if she could send back for repair and I told her no I was going to toss this piece of S___ $250.00 plus previous repair cost watch and get a Timex which I know will run longer and be covered by the company.
Never again will I wear a Lumi Nox watch or any other product associated with this company.
- Would not honor warranty
Preferred solution: Toss this worthless watch and get a real one.
Two Luminox Watches purchased $400 both worthless
I had purchased two watches from Amazon. Navy Seal 3000/3900 V3.
The first watch bezel broke while surfing. Not diving but surfing. Saw moisture inside the glass face. Called Luminox and they told me it was extreme use/abuse.
A 200M depth and above water sport is too abusive? What? Second watch the minute hand came loose after 6 months? Are you kidding me.
This watch has barely been used. No wonder the SEAL's stopped wearing these. Luminox watches are not tactical. They are not even pratical.
They are fragile wrist candy for fools that think they have a tough watch. Buy a Casio G Shock or any other watch.
AVOID AT ALL COST!
- Useless
- Would not honor warranty
- Very poor quality product
Luminox watch very poorly made.
This has been a problem since the watch was new. The luminous tubes fell off.
My watchmaker said it was because it was a water based glue that held them in. Then the watch stopped again. The watchmaker said that the hands were magnetic and attracted to each other each time the second hand crossed over the minute hand or the minute hand crossed over the hour hand. This caused the watch to run slow.
After a complete service by my master watchmaker, I was told that the sweep pinion, canon pinion and hour wheel were unnaturally long in order to acommodate the thickness of the luminous tubes in the hands. Since Luminox does not sell parts to anybody, I guess I will just have to toss it.
Total disappointment. Just advertising, not a real watch.
- Useless
- Very poor quality product
Luminox not what they claim
I have a luminox 3000 original Navy Seals watch and it should be an embarrisment to the Navy Seals. Been broke about 6 times in 5 years, never got anything repaired under warranty, always my fault.
Saltsman's is the only repair center and they are a joke, I even had someone on the phone tell me ifI didn't like it go somewhere else. There is nowhere else! You cannot buy parts anywhere. I bought a broken one on E bay th use for parts.
Mine was a gift and I keep it for that reason, but will never buy another one. I replacwd the battery myself anr the movement was Japan.
I guess there is 51% Swiss parts to make it Swiss made. DON'T BUY!
Scam and *** artist who hold a monopoly
Total disappointment
Luminox Evo Navy Seal Blackout Watch Review from Glendale, California
SEAL should have been capitalized at the end, and I have not found a way to edit. Apologies.
Unfortunately the strap broke in 10months (approx), sitting on the couch with my son and it got really loose and the buckle came off.
Customer service said that their warranty does not cover the outside parts like straps, crystal, bezel, crown etc.
It's sad that a company that does not stand behind the quality of their parts like this, and manufacture pieces that fail so quickly, can use the name of such a respected and elite group like the Navy Seals.
Luminox poor quality
Crystal was scratched in a matter of days. The top of the bezel has a small luminescent piece that fell out.
Overall very disappointed. Tried to find a sapphire crystal but they say you can't put one in it. Have a friend with the same watch and he has the same problems.
The small piece fell out just like mine. Haven't taken it in the water because of all the complaints that I have read about it getting moisture in the watch.
- Style of watch
- Quality of the product for the price
Preferred solution: fix the watch, replace the crystal and the piece that fell out
Day of the week change
I bought a model 1924 Luminox and the date changes at midnight. However, the day changes too but to the SAME OLD DAY in German.
It does not convert to English until 3:00 a.m. Maybe sounds silly, but all should change to English (because that is where they are selling them) at the stroke of midnight. I do NOT need to know what the previous day is in German at 12:30 a.m. It's a useless feature in my opinion and should be corrected.
We already know that the previous day is. It should change (no matter what language) at midnight for the amount of money I paid. My $30.00 Timex changes perfect at midnight.
Luminox should do the same. No more Luminox for me!!!!!!!!!

Luminox Watches - Bad rubber material and bad manufacturing
Here are my emails communications to Luminox Customer Care.
Message to Luminox Customer Care:
My mother gave me a luminox watch for my birthday. It is a series 8800. I do not ware it anymore as the rubber band is breaking. I was in Cabelas Lone tree store looking at getting a new band. They told me to contact you as the band should not be breaking apart in two years. Please let me know what I should do next.
From Luminox Customer Care:
Replacement straps and keepers are available through our Service Center. They can be reached at 401-946-****, info@***s-watches.com or http://www.saltzmans-watches.com/luminox_watch_bands .
Message to Luminox Customer Care:
Hello Customer Care.
If I buy a new rubber watch band will it break again? I do not want to just keep buying $40.00 rubber watch bands that will break within two years. Please advise me of what to do about this problem? Is this just bad manufacturing or bad rubber material in the rubber bands? Maybe it is the high altitude of where I live. I am in Parker, Colorado. 6,000 I do hike in the mountains here so I do go even higher. Maybe Luminox are not a watch that functions well at high altitudes. Do you think that is the problem? Again please advise me.
From Luminox Customer Care:
Altitude should not be a factor in the wear of your rubber strap. The rubber will break down over time. The life of a rubber strap can wear quicker depending on how the watch is treated. We do have nylon options for most of our watches. Nylon is typically going to last longer and be a stronger material. They can be reached at 401-946-****, info@***s-watches.com or http://www.saltzmans-watches.com/luminox_watch_bands.
Message to Luminox Customer Care:

Luminox Watch Review
Luminox Mens Black Ops Watch Review from Menlo Park, California
My black ops watch has fallen apart now twice. Rubber band has broken after one year , emblem on the face of the watch has come unglued, The illuminating numbers on the face of watch have both fallen off the 12 and six spots.
Mind you the emblem has fallen off twice it was glued back on once and has fallen off again.
So painful customer service. I don't know any military personnel that support or where the watch and I will never make this mistake of purchasing LUMINOX AGAIN.
Luminox = Substandard Product
- Very poor quality product
