Do not get this watch if you’re expecting durability. You’d be much better off getting a G-Shock for a quarter of the price.
They are what they look like, cheap plastic watches

Disappointed
Beware - Watches do NOT keep accurate time
Bought a Luminox Navy Seal Watch for Christmas 2018. Had it a total of 2 weeks before I realized it kept losing time, reset proper time and focused on whether it was me or not.
Sure enough, losing time. Soo, contacted Luminox who sent me to Saltzmans Repair to have it shipped to them with me covering the $17 shipping return. Ok, benefit of the doubt right? Watch was sent back to me on my dime only to discover watch was losing time worse than when I originally sent in.
Now its losing 15 minutes every other day. Contacted luminox again, send to Saltzsmans again. Today is March 13, 2019 and I am notified watch is coming back to me. For the time I have owned this watch, it has been in my possession for approx 27 days out of 90 days.
A quartz watch, expensive and branded as military dependable.... obviously you can see my frustration having paid high dollar for a watch that has not worked. We will see what happens next but I am not very confident.
Absolutely zero trustworthiness, and the experience of any support from luminox has been horrific. Communication is terrible.
- Design and look
- Watch loses time so what good is it

Wow ... how lousy 8400 series
Have a series 8400 that has been returned for service twice for same problem to authorized service center back east. Watch stops running intermittently. Shake it and it starts running. Also had batteries installed 3 times over the life of the watch only once where the battery was worn out. Seems highly unlikely Navy Seals would wear a watch that is this unreliable.
So this most recent failure to run, I had it with Luminox and bought a competing brand. I will not continue to throw money into this money pit.
As an electrical engineer, I decided to see if I could find the issue. I opened the back and first looked at the battery contacts. A flat plate with holding screw on top and a small probe on the bottom. Sure enough, that design was the problem. With the screw fully tightened, the battery wasn't really tight. I bent the bottom contact upward to create a little tighter electrical contact fit. Solved the problem. Actually stopped wearing my new watch for the past two months to make sure that was the problem. It was.
The funny part is I thought this watch was magnetically sensitive because the stoppages occurred frequently when working around strong magnets. The magnets were pulling on the battery causing loss of contact. Too bad an otherwise good watch has such poor battery contact design.
Moisture getting in under crystal/face of watch
I purchased watch through authorized LUMINOX dealer for $422.00 A couple of months (2or3) after warranty had expired I was hand washing some garments, and noticed moisture under crystal.Mind you that is less than 1 foot under water.Luminox “CLAIM TO FAME” is that Navy Seal dive teams use their watches. This watch has been worn very little an is in prestine shape.Watch was sent off for repair to Saltsmans (authorized LUMINOX repair) that was another $90.00 Well long story short it’s sad when a $19.00 Casio Forester watch out preforms a$400.00 plus watch.Think before you buy! Their also is a Class Action Investigation on going with many others having similar problems. You can find it On Line.
Terrible service on a watch that does not keep time.
My kids gave me a Luminox dive watch for Father's Day 2017. After only a few weeks it stopped keeping the correct time.
I replaced the battery and for a while it worked, only to fail again. I sent the watch back to Saltzman repair service under Luminox's directions with the warranty card, unfortunately I listed an incorrect place of purchase as my son thought he had bought it at a local dive shop. I corrected that but this was ignored by Saltzman who stated the watch's mechanism was faulty and needed repair at a price over $100, including credit for the $15 I had already sent them. I complained directly to Luminox who essentially told me they would not honor the 2 year warranty.
I asked that my watch be sent back, only to be told I had to send another $15 for shipping. In the end I argued that they already had this payment and they returned my BROKEN watch. I have since thrown it away and am diving with my old Swiss Army dive watch.
The bevel is faded and the dial is fused stuck, but after 20 years it still keeps perfect time! Never Luminox again, lesson learned!

Mine does the same, I find myself checking time every morning to see if it kept accurate time. Not expected for an expensive watch!
You paid high dollar for the name, not the quality of the "innards" of the watch itself----a quartz watch should keep accurate time but only if it is made of quality materials. You would be better off just buying a Timex watch, of which there are many styles for around $35.
