SO- i was selling Luminox watches for about a year and have one advice- don't buy! i had too many bad reviews from my clients. here are some common issues, some happen in just a short time of use:

1. water resistant? don't count on it, some watches are just not sealed. and if water got into the watch and the movement is ruined you have a problem. they will always say it is your fault.

2. scratches- the entry level watches don't have a sapphire crystal but "hardened mineral", it is easily scratched and brake.

3. movements- they use basic cheap RONDA movements that are just not tough enough for military/police/outdoor use, don't expact to have a tough reliable watch, i replaced many movements for watches under 1 year of use.

4. straps- she rubber straps are not strong enough! prepare to buy another spare strap if you use it for any outdoor activity. it will not last for long.

5. LLT- that is the Luminox light technology. this is a great feature, probably the only good reason to buy a Luminox. but beware- the LLT capsules often fall off the dial, it is of course your fault (usually they will not repair under warranty). and i had a few cases that the capsules broke for no reason so don't glow anymore, you don't expect it to happen on a tough watch!

6. hands fall off, usually the second hand fall off.

7. SERVICE- that is the most important issue on my opinion, Luminox will always blame you for any defect and will ask you to pay for repairs, stand up for your rights and don't accept it!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Location: Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

This is also my experience with my Valjoux 1861.BO, failed twice in 6 months, they always blame the customer. I pressed hard and fortunately after 5 months they have decided to replace it.

1.

The expensive watch scratched easily with moderate use

2.

Failed completely and needed a new crown, came back damaged on the winder

3. Second failure it would stop and start on the time

Never again will I dfeal with this company who fraudently advertise tough, rugged, reliable watches, they dont live up to as advertised, buy a suunto...
